ABORIGINAL HEALTH PRACTITIONER – Applications Close 13th May 2021


This is a unique opportunity for an Aboriginal Health Practitioner, to
partake in the award winning Healthy Deadly Feet Program.

The Healthy Deadly Feet Program is a state wide initiative to address
diabetes related foot disease within the Aboriginal Population. The
program provides extensive professional development opportunities
and supports clinicians to develop skills in assessing and managing foot
related pathology and diabetes education.

The position works closely with the podiatry service based at Tamworth
Hospital and provides:

• Inpatient foot assessment to Tamworth Hospital
• Cultural care navigation and support to patients attending the
   podiatry service and the multidisciplinary high risk foot clinic
• Community engagement liaising with local community groups and
   flying with the podiatry team throughout the New England Region
   to provide outreach and community based foot care and
   education
• Health promotion to the community
