Chief Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Officer

The Chief Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Officer and Deputy Director-General is a key leadership role. It will focus on increasing the system-wide visibility and importance of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and improving health equity and outcomes for Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

It is important to recognise that this role and the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Division are not solely responsible for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health and we must collaborate across all levels of the health system.

The recruitment process for the Chief Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Officer and Deputy Director-General is now open and can be found here.

On commencement, the successful appointee will engage with all stakeholders, including the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander workforce and communities, to further shape the new Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Division and its priorities.
