COALITION OF PEAKS UPDATE
Joint Council recommends historic National Agreement on Closing the Gap to National Cabinet, the Australian Local Government Association and the Coalition of Peaks for signing
Last week the Joint Council on Closing the Gap met by telepresence to consider the draft new National Agreement on Closing the Gap.
The Joint Council agreed to recommend the draft National Agreement to the National Cabinet, the Australian Local Government Association and the Coalition of Peaks for signing before the end of July. This is a significant achievement: it is the first National Agreement of its type that has been developed in partnership by Australian governments, together with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people through Coalition of Peaks.
