IAHA Members interested in becoming a member of the National Board for your profession?

The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) has advertised for applicants to be appointed to several of the National Boards for regulated health professions.

There are several vacancies on national, state and territory professional Boards, including allied health professional Boards. IAHA members may be interested the following: Chiropractic; Dental; Optometry; Osteopathy; Pharmacy; Physiotherapy; Podiatry; Psychology; Occupational Therapy and Chinese Medicine. 

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health professionals are strongly encouraged to apply.

APHRA is in the process of developing a National Scheme Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Strategy and is being guided by an Advisory Group, which includes IAHA CEO, Donna Murray, and is co-chaired by Associate Professor Greg Phillips, IAHAs 2017 Indigenous Allied Health Professional of the Year.  Participation in a Professional Board presents a significant leadership and personal development opportunity. Increasing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander professional representation on Boards is an important step in improving the cultural safety and responsiveness of professional practice and health system culture.  Applications will close on Monday 19 February 2018.
