Join the IAHA Team – Trainer & Assessor Position closes 30 April 2022

IAHA is seeking dedicated Trainers and Assessor to join our team within the Northern Territory (Darwin Office), teaching Certificate III & Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance on a fixed-term or part-time basis.

The position is responsible for delivering structured, flexible, relevant and interesting accredited training and assessment services.

The incumbent will be expected to comply with the Australian Qualifications Training Framework (AQTF), Standards for RTO’s 2015, Training Accreditation Council, TAC, policies and guidelines, Department of Training and Workforce Development contractual requirements, AHPRA and other relevant and necessary contractual and legislative requirements established by Training Authorities, Clinical and administrative standards required by external agencies and internal policies and procedures. They are also expected to demonstrate a positive commitment to the highest achievement level in Equal Employment Opportunity, Work Health & Safety, Code of Conduct, Quality Improvement, Performance Management, Customer Focus and Confidentiality throughout the course of their duties.

Role Requirements

The preferred applicant will be required to hold a valid Northern Territory Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card), valid Driver’s License, a National Police Clearance and must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (under the public health (COVID-19 Directions under section 52 of the Public and Environmental Health Act 2011) as well as demonstrate knowledge and/or experience in the following:

  • Well-developed administration and organisational skills demonstrated by an ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines;
  • Excellent customer service skills;
  • Preparing training resources and assessment instruments;
  • Delivering and assessing units;
  • Preparing training session plans and timetables;
  • Participating in trainer and assessor moderation and validation meetings; and
  • Participating in relevant professional development activities.
  • Experience within community development or work experience within an Indigenous community is advantageous.
