The Occupational Therapy Council of Australia are seeking Board nomination

The Occupational Therapy Council of Australia (OTC) are currently recruiting for the OTC Board. Per the OTC:

“All directors of OTC attend face-to-face meetings twice a year, usually in Adelaide over a weekend and participate in online meetings using Zoom twice a year. The agendas are comprehensive and include minutes of all committee meetings as well.

New directors would also be invited to be a member on one or more committees used by OTC to manage its functions – Program Accreditation Committee (PAC), Overseas Qualified Assessment Committee (OQAC) and Governance and Strategic Affairs Committee (GSAC). These committees also meet face-to-face twice a year and at least twice a year using Zoom.

From time to time, additional time is spent on other issues such as risk management, strategic planning, operational plans and cultural safety & training. These meetings usually involve an additional day at one of the face-to-face meetings or alternatively, via zoom.

The current Board of OTC has five directors nominated by sponsoring organisations and three independent directors, bringing a range of community, consumer, financial and legal expertise to our deliberations. We are keen to welcome directors with knowledge of the National Registration and Accreditation Scheme (NRAS), interest in standards of occupational therapy education and practice, and general organisational knowledge to oversee financial and legal responsibilities of the organisation. OTC is keen to have representation from diverse areas of practice and membership that reflects the profession. We welcome membership by Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander practitioners and are committed to ensuring that OTC contributes to meeting goals of the NRAS Aboriginal Cultural Safety Strategy, 2020-2025.”

To apply, please send a brief CV to admin@otcouncil.com.au. For more information, please contact the OTC on (08) 9368 2655 or via email to and ask to speak with Chair, Associate Professor Lynne Adamson, or director member sponsored by NATSIOTN, Ms Kathryn Martin.
