Congratulations 2024 ACT Academy Graduates and Award Winners
On Wednesday 20 November, IAHA celebrated the 2024 ACT Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Academy Graduation and Awards. Guests were welcomed by Ngambri-Ngunnawal custodian of the Canberra region, Paul Girrawah House, and were joined by Rachel Stephen-Smith MLA, ACT Minister for Health, who congratulated the students and wished them well for their journeys into health.
The night was a celebration of nine deadly young people who have graduated Academy with their Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance, most of them via school-based traineeship, completing the qualifications in years 11 and 12 alongside their ACT Senior Secondary Certificate. This is a significant achievement, and IAHA have been privileged to share and witness the strength and growth of the graduating cohort.
We look forward to watching our graduates go on to do great and deadly things in the future!
