Indigenous Allied Health Australia (IAHA) is a national, not for profit, member based Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander allied health organisation and endorsed charitable institution.

IAHA greatly appreciates all offers of assistance or recognition in the form of financial donations and/or gifts and accepts to give appropriate consideration to all such offers. We acknowledge that some donations may be made on the specific basis of recognition of the donor. Acceptance or rejections of donations are made in consideration with IAHA’s Constitution, values and core business.

Indigenous Allied Health Australia (IAHA) is also recognised in with DGR status also known as  Deductible Gift Recipients who are able to provide a tax deductible receipt for all of your donations.  Feel free to check our status at any time here at the DGR lookup website.

We are also a not-for-profit organisation which means all donations are invested back into the current and future Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander workforce and into our communities. This includes member support and development programs, direct assistance to support success, mentoring, or projects and programs that help to increase resources for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in communities across Australia.

Supply Nation RegisteredIndigenous Allied Health Australia (IAHA) is a registered Supply Nation company which means that we are 50% or more Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander ownership. It also means that Indigenous Allied Health (IAHA) is located in Australia and an incorporated entity as required by their registration process.  We are current and have a valid ABN and registered as a charitable status under the Not-for Profit umbrella as per Deductible Gift Recipients (DGR Endorsement).

IAHA offers Professional Development Scholarships and Bursaries to IAHA members who wish to undertake a professional development opportunity on a case-by-case basis. This is inclusive of but not limited to Short Courses, Non-Award Post Graduate Courses, Graduate Clinical Placements and Conferences/forums.

Support a Health Academy Student

The IAHA National Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Health Academy is an innovative, community-led learning model that is about re-shaping and re-designing how training and education is delivered to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in high school embedding the centrality of culture and a holistic approach to health.

The model is designed to work collaboratively across disciplines and organisational structures (health, education and training, employment) to increase Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander high school student engagement, retention and successful completion of Year 12 with a Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance. It aims to demonstrate the success of education and training outcomes when social and cultural determinants are considered and partnered with wrap around supports brought together and led by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, families and communities.

Help us to Support our Communities

IAHA are always looking for ways to support our communities suffering from devastation and disaster. After the 2019 monsoon hit the Palm Island Community, their services, food and electricity were cut off for a couple of weeks. 

As a way of showing support, together with partner organisations – NATSIHWA, AIDA and the Lowitja Institute, $8,000 was raised to purchase non-perishable food items, nappies, baby bottles, toilet paper and was sent to Palm Island to support community and to ease the stress of families.

The Palm Island Community Company (PICC) kindly took delivery of the items, packaged them up suitable for delivery to community who needed it most.
