IAHA delivers Cultural Responsiveness Workshop at DAA 2016
On the 19th May, IAHA CEO, Donna Murray, and IAHA Workforce Development Officer, Kylie Stothers, delivered a workshop at the Dietitians Association of Australia (DAA) 33rd National Conference (19-21 May) in Melbourne. The workshop titled: Cultural Responsiveness attracted 30 participants, who were conference delegates. The delegates that attended were either Dieticians/Nutritionists or those working in the area who have an interest in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and nutrition .
The two hour work shop was well received and provided participants the opportunity to explore the issues of cultural safety and cultural responsiveness in their own individual practice and at an organisational level. IAHA will be following up with delegates that participated and will offer a webinar in 6 weeks’ time to enable participates to explore and learn more about IAHA’s Cultural Responsiveness Framework once they are back in their workplace.
