Online survey on closing the gap is live: have your say!
We want to hear your views on what is needed from governments to make real change in the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
IAHA are a member of the Coalition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peak Organisations which, through a partnership with governments, are working to develop a new National Agreement on Closing the Gap.
This agreement will help shape the next phase of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander policies and programs; including in health, disability, education and other key sectors in which IAHA and allied health plays a vital role.
It is important that there are strong Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices leading the new agreement. The Coalition of Peaks, with support from governments, are currently talking to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander representatives, communities and organisations.
IAHA encourage Members to complete the online public survey and to share with your Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander networks. Survey responses close 5pm Friday October 25. IAHA will be hosting a consultation session with members at the 2019 IAHA Members Forum and we look forward to hearing your views there.
The ‘A new way of working’ discussion booklet available here provides more information about the Coalition of Peaks, the history of Closing the Gap and ways forward.
