Health Policy Leadership
As a national member-based Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander allied health organisation, a key priority is to influence the transformation of health, allied health and Indigenous health policy working with Australian Governments and stakeholders.
National and jurisdictional health workforce policy and planning are critical to ensuring that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, families and communities have access to high quality, culturally safe and responsive health care that has the allied health workforce embedded as an essential sector in the health system at all levels.
IAHA works with key partners and stakeholders in the following policy forums:
- National Health Leadership Forum – National Indigenous health and wellbeing organisations
- Australian Allied Health Leadership Forum
- Indigenous Coalition of Peaks – Closing the Gap Framework
