IAHA Delivers Cultural Responsiveness Workshop in Bourke
Indigenous Allied Health Australia (IAHA) successfully delivered a face to face workshop in Bourke, NSW for the NSW Outback Division of General Practice (ODGP). Participants in the workshop were staff employed by the ODGP, who are based in Bourke, Lighting Ridge and Brewarina, NSW. The majority of the staff were Allied Health Professionals, but we also had Snr Management staff, Administration and Professional Support staff and Aboriginal Allied Health Assistants. The ODGP is also an IAHA Corporate member and we look forward to continuing our working relationship with them and the region.
Some quotes from participants:
“Challenged my thinking, but felt safe in doing that.”
“Knowledgeable, passionate presenters.”
“Forcing me to reflect about my own cultural biases and also inspiring me to think about strategies.”
