The Family Matters Report 2020 launched today – help us make Australia take notice!

The Family Matters Report 2020 once again reveals the rising tide of over-representation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children in out-of-home care, with the majority of those children permanently separated from their parents.

The Family Matters Report 2020, officially launched today in an online event at 3.30 AEDT, reveals that our children continue to be removed from family and kin at disproportionate rates – disrupting their connection to community and culture.

Each year since 2016, the report has been shining a light on the national crisis of continuing and growing removals of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children from their families. The report investigates the reasons for these removals, and highlights the solutions that will meet the Family Matters campaign’s purpose of ending the over-representation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children in child protection by 2040.

If you have not already, please register to join us to launch the fifth annual Family Matters report.
